Jett's Maternity Photos

hello!
Today I wanted to share with you my maternity pictures. They weren't exactly a planned or scheduled thing, but how they came about and turned out made me extremely happy.
My sister in law, Anna, is a photographer and had been hinting here and there that she wanted to take some maternity pictures (she lived in Alabama when I was pregnant with Henry and couldn't take them) so after a few pinterest inspired photos sent back and forth we decided to give it a go!
Honestly I hadn't even thought about getting them this time around, with being so swollen and uncomfortable and just downright self-conscious, I didn't think to get any this time. Boy am I sure glad I did! The lighting was absolutely breathtaking outside, and with the couple outfits and props I had thrown together and a beautiful Boise spot for pictures, it turned out perfectly! With Henry, his pictures had a Christmas theme, so with these I really wanted to capture the season of fall in the heart of Boise. (I seriously love it here, it's absolutely beautiful year round) It's so fun to reflect on these and see the last day I was pregnant. (I went into labor late that night, and had Jett the next morning). Pregnancy is such a profound and beautiful thing, and whether or not you feel confident during it, you most definitely should capture it. It's so worth looking back on.

Tribal Teepee Nursery Tour ♡

Hello friends, welcome to the blog!
Today I finally got around to getting some pictures of the nursery/playroom space and thought I would share with you and show the details. This was such a fun space to create, and simple really! Lots of DIY, crafts and printables, but I really think it's a unique and eclectic space, can't wait to see the boys together creating memories in here. I'm exactly one month away from the due date today, WOW
!
The look I wanted to go for was tribal, I wanted it to be adventurous and outdoorsy. I was really drawn to mint, orange, yellow, black and cream colors together, and of course teepee themed! I had searched high and low for triangle decals, but they were all so spendy! I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a roll of black vinyl with a 40% off coupon and got enough to make the whole statement wall for just under $4, it was a total steal! I made a cardboard triangle the size I wanted and traced and cut it out from the roll over and over, then placed them on the wall sporadically. I love how it turned out!
For the gallery wall I decided to print off some cute art and added some dimension with some decor I crafted. I bought some arrowheads on ebay for $4 and spray painted a canvas to hot glue them to. I also picked up the white feathers from Walmart and dipped them in paint and tied them all to a branch. I love the wild banner too, it was an easy felt and hot glue project! I love gallery walls. They are super easy and give a space character. I love the fox and mountain one most!

A peek inside :)
I've always loved Peter Pan so I had to add this right when you walk in. I always tell Henry never grow up♡
This may be a nursery, but I wanted it to double just as much a play space as well. This cradle was made by my Grandpa, and I thought it would work perfectly to store books for Henry to read and play with as I tend to baby brother.
Another picture of the gallery wall
I think one of the main things that makes this space is the indoor play teepee. I have always wanted the fancy Etsy teepees, but I just couldn't fathom spending $200 on a toy. Besides, the poles propping them up seemed to be a nuisance to play around and avoid knocking over as a toddler. I was so happy to find this on Walmarts online clearance for $18 and even though it is alot bigger than expected, it is the perfect touch, and Henry can't get enough of it!
This sign is my absolute favorite thing about the room. I wanted to keep the triangle wall simple so I added the silver arrow and strung felt balls from the Dollar Tree from it.
Since baby will probably be sleeping in our room for the first little while, we just set up a simple bassinet in here.
Henry's teepee. So far he asks to do everything in here. Eat lunch, read books, play toys, nap, and even play in the dark with a flashlight. He loves it!
Another view of the triangle wall
Henry's little play corner
Changing table, and of course sone moccs!
I just have a feeling we will spend a lot of time in here♡ I love watching him play and explore.
Book storage
I seriously love this deer print from Hobby Lobby. And the banner was another DIY felt and hot glue project. My poor fingers.
Isn't this basket darling? Gotta love D.I finds!
Can't wait to meet you and bring you here baby boy♡

Big Brother Interview

Third trimester has had me all sorts of wiped out again. I cannot believe how tired I am! But lately I've really enjoyed naps with Henry not just because I need them, but because of our snuggles, giggles and conversation. Today, Henry really started to talk about baby brother so I wanted to journal the little sentimental things he said to me as he fell asleep.

Pointing to my belly: "baby brothers in here mom."
Yes he is he will be here soon!
Then pointing at my belly button: "open the door, come out and see me!"

"Jesus loves baby brother."

"Jesus loves Henry and Mommy too."

"I show baby brother how to play."

"Baby brother loves vegetables." (Haha this one killed me, the things he comes up with)

"Baby brother play with my toys."

"Baby brother loves my grocery toys and doctor toys."

"I hug baby brother crying."

"Baby brother come to Henry's house."

"I love baby brother."

Henry gave me the gift of mamahood, and I hold that first born experience with him so precious. I cannot wait to see this new chapter unfold.

Fall Makeup

Hello lovelies!
As most of you know already, I love makeup.
and I love fall.
So I can't help it but be consumed and excited for fall makeup trends!
To me, summer makeup is all about minimal and bronzed, leaving most of the focus on the face,
featuring sunkissed bronze, highlighted cheeks, and simple on the eyes.
Fall is a total game changer.

I love the deep vampy, berry, and wine colored lips paired with smokey sultry eyes,
it's my favorite. I've just been obsessing over these trends on Pinterest, any takers on me applying your makeup for you??
Today I thought, why not post some inspiration, and some of my favorite lip colors I own?
Best part is all of these are very affordable and very inexpensive.
So without further ado, here are the babes I will be busting out of my collection this season:
(I will be talking about each lip product in order from left to right. Click the products for links)

NYX Butter Gloss (Raspberry Tart) : Love this lipgloss! It's a super wearable shade, and I love that the color is buildable. I can put one coat on for a light berry color or a couple coats to get a plum effect. It's less commitment than a lipstick for all day, and easy to touch up! Best part is it's price, only $4.99 at Ulta! (Ulta always has a $3.50 off  $10 coupon on their website, and so I thought since I'm mentioning 3 NYX Lip products from Ulta you might as well bundle and save a penny!)

Milani Color Statement Lipstick (Uptown Mauve) : This color is ideal! I originally came across this beauty searching for a long-desired dupe for the ever so popular MAC lipstick in the shade "Rebel". It's simply stunning, but honestly, $17 for a lipstick just isn't my taste! This is a purple with a deep pink undertone, and it's gorgeous on so many skin tones. I picked this stunner up at Walmart for $4.97!

NYC Lipstick (Mahogany) : This one is honestly my FAVORITE! From one glance it looks like a deep cranberry shade, then the next its a deep purple. This one believe it or not is 93 cents at Walmart, heck yes to that budget!

NYX Butter Gloss (Chocolate Crepe) :  This is such a unique lip color. It has a dusty rose, deep mauve feel to it, with slight brown undertone. It would go great with an intense smokey eye or a glitter crease cut. This one is $5.99 at Ulta!

Milani Twist up Lip (Premiere Plum) : I was lucky enough to find this pretty color at the Dollar Tree of all places. Milani is a pretty inexpensive brand, and so when you find it at the Dollar Tree, snag it up girlfriend! They are good quality! This creamy plum lip shade is a typical fall statement

NYX Butter Lipstick (Licorice) : This deep wine color is a go-to for me for sure. It stays on all day, and is just the ideal fall lipstick color everyone tries to find! Only $5.99 at Ulta too, can't beat that.
Color Swatches from L to R: Uptown Mauve, Mahogany, Raspberry Tart, Licorice, Premiere Plum, Chocolate Crepe

I've also got some more shades I'm on the lookout for this season too :)
I'm dying over these! L to R: Retractable Lip Liner in "Plum", Simply Vamp Lip Cream in "Bewitching", High Voltage Lipsticks in "Wine & Dine" and "Dahlia", Intense Butter Glosses in "Toasted Marshmallow" and "Spice Cake"

I hope you enjoyed this little beauty post, please let me know if there are any products you hold true to this fall, or if you try any of these for yourself :)
XOXO, Kess
